2010.

So this year I made this cute christmas card on my photoshop and was going to write a letter to tell everyone about what has happened this year for us, but instead (to save money) I will just be posting it on my blog, So enjoy the listers first christmas card!

This year Jeff and I were married! We started out our married life together in Ephraim,Utah. Jeff was working full time as a foreman at Timberhawk building systems and McKenna was going to Snow College Full time.
Things were going perfect until one day Timberhawk announced that they were shutting down the company and closing their doors and that everyone was being laid off.
It came as a big shock to us but in the end turned out to be a blessing.
After a lot of fasting and praying we decided that we needed to be in Cedar City, in two weeks we had taken a trip down to cedar, found an apartment, packed up our whole apartment and were on our way to starting our new adventure!
When we got to our new town Jeff enrolled at Southern Utah University and McKenna Enrolled at Evan's Hairstyling College.
We spend most of our time going to school and in the free time hanging out at home and watching netflix! We have been very tight on money but it's all part of the learning experience right? lol it has also been a good learning experience for me, This year I have become a lot of crafty to save money, and I also started my own little photography business to help us bring in a little extra dough, which has turned out to be a wonderful learning experience!
[Sorry for not having very exciting news but until school is over I don't think we are going to have anything very excited to tell you about]
Jeff is planning on graduating in December 2011 as long as all of his credits transfer right, and McKenna will be finishing hair school in October 2011.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

happy christmas world

Our First christmas together! It was really weird to not have christmas with my family but it was fun to have it with my best friend and start our own new traditions!
{CHRISTMAS EVE}

We decided to open our stocking on christmas eve, because I was excited to give my little stocking stuffer gifts to Jeff and I couldn't wait another day. lol

A cute little old lady made these stockings for us as wedding gifts, and they are beautiful!!

Every year for as long as I can remember my parents always let us open one gift on christmas eve night, and it was always sleepers. So Jeff and I have decied to carry on the traditon to our family!

My favorite colors!

christmas time.

So this has to be my most favorite time of the year! For sure!! I love everything about Christmas, well everything but the snow! (I am fine with it as long as I don't have to leave the house... but other than sitting inside with a big blanket and hot cocoa I'm not a fan.)
So Lucky for us, this year Mr. wonderful and I got to borrow some Christmas tree's from my family. We thought about buying one, but we didn't wanna spend our little bit of money on a real tree and we don't have any space to save a fake one, so it was a blessing that my mom left her little tree's in West Jordan :)
I could hardly wait to go up to salt lake and get them, and the minute we got all of our stuff from the the weekend into the house I made Jeff start setting them up!!

[growing up I remember my dad making us lay under the christmas tree looking up at all the lights with him, I have always loved doing this so I made Jeff get down on the floor and look at all the lights with me :)]

[This is a really random picture but I wanted to show off the wrapping paper found, I looked forever to find exactly the style I wanted and I was very happy when I found these :)]

[And now...my favortie part! My family made these little ginger bread men for family night last year and so I decided to bring them home with me so I could have my family here with me for christmas!]

thanksgiving weekend.

This thanksgiving was my very first thanksgiving away from my family. I have to admit I seriously thought it was going to be really hard and I would want to cry the whole weekend but I didn't I was a big girl and I actually had a lot of fun. I had school on Wednesday so we had to leave thanksgiving morning. After a three or four hour drive (i don't reallly know how long it is cause i normally sleep) we got to Jeff's family house and that night had a wonderful thanksgiving dinner!

That night Jeff and I (and when I say Jeff and I, I mean I) decided it would be fun to go do some black friday shopping. I had never really been before, at least not that I ever remember so I was really excited. We drove up to Jordan landing and I waited out side old navy for an hour in the FREEZING cold, while Jeff went to the gas station to get me some hot cocoa and then to walmart to buy me a cheap blanket because I forgot mine and was dying!!! After he brought me my stuff he headed over to wait in line at Aeropostal.

There was at least 500 other people waiting in line with me at Old Navy! It was CRAZY!!! I was only there to buy Jeff and I some p.j. pants for christmas eve.
(growing up we always got to open one gift on christmas eve before we went to bed.. and it was always p.j.'s. I loved this and so Jeff and I decided to carry on the trdition)

The pants went like crazy! I couldn't even believe how many people were smashed in that store!! After I found the pants I wanted I ended up waiting in line for at least a good hour!! While in line I made some friends, a cute couple from logan. They kept me company until the store people let Jeff into the store. (they had reached the max. amount of how many people they could have in the store at once!)

After that long wait we headed over to walmart but it was so crazy we decided it was not worth the one 4 dollar game we wanted. So at three in the morning we decided to grab some food. We went to Ranchero's my favorite place to eat in salt lake!! After that we headed over to staples but they didn't open until 6 so we spent some time walking around the south town mall and found some really good deals!

Then at 5 we headed over to staples and I ended up standing in line again (alone) while Jeff when over to bed, bath and beyond to buy something for our t.v. but it turns out they didn't have it. When staples opened Jeff got really into the whole black friday shopping and when running through the store to find what we needed. It was a reallly funny thing to see.

After that we were both extremly tired and so we decided to head home and call it good. we got home around 7:30 and both passed out. All I can say is that I had a BLAST with my hubby and am SO glad that all our christmas shopping is done for this year!!

The next day we got to go up to provo and hang out with my little sister noel :) we got pizza for lunch and then went to the mall together. it's always fun to see her, i'm so glad she's in utah again!!

On sunday Jeff and I headed back to good old Cedar city, the weather was CRAZY BAD!! It took us about 5 and 1/2 hours. most of our extra time was spend just sitting in some really bad traffic. But while we were sitting there I got to take a picture of me standing in the middle of i-15!! How many people actally have a picture like that???

These pictures don't even show you how Bad it actaully was!!

There was five cars that had slid of in the same area!!

Black friday shopping!! So early!!

coffee table.

So I found this gorgeous bad boy at the local D.I. for ten bucks!! yep ten buck!!
Iit was white and had a bunch of pretty bad dings (i forgot to take a before picture :S)

I first spray painted him an ivory color
and then I started glazing :) I am very happy to tell you all that I am totally getting a lot better at glazing, but i still need a little bit of practice!

the glazing process
You can't really tell but I was seriously freezing my fingers off!!! no joke, it was just freezing out side and I had my hand in a bucket of water most of the time to glaze! ah i thought we were going to have to cut off my fingers when I was done, but in the end it was totally worth it!!

pound the pavement.

Hey everyone! So I have a friend her name is Sarah.
She has some really good friends that live next to her.
They have been trying to have kids for a while now, but just found out that without getting a Vitro Fertilization they have a slim to zero chance of ever having there own baby.
This is a wonderful chance for them, but it comes at a high cost of 12,000 Dollars.

Along with Sarah I am very excited to announce for this family that there will be a 5K run/walk, Pound The Pavement For Parenthood, it will be held November 13th, to help raise money for this wonderful family!!!

Pre registering will end Saturday, November 10th and is only 15 Dollars.
Same day registering will only be 20 Dollars.

The run/walk will end in saratoga springs and there will be a live band, raffle for gifts, service from local vendors, and a wonderful homemade bake sale!

So put on your walkin' shoes and pound the pavement to help out this family, because you know they would do the same for you!!!

fall is in the air.

I love fall. I love the changing colors. I love wearing jackets. I love the way the mountains look. I love pumkins. I just love everything about it! It is totally my most favorite time of the year hands down!! Just to show you a little how much I really love fall I have some pictures of what i've been up to fallalize my house!
#1. Because Jeff and I are both going to school full time, and are crazy poor I have started getting super crafty to save some money. I was reallly bad wanting a wreath to hang on my front door but all the ones I found that I LOVED were WAY too much money :( So I started thinking about it really hard and came up with what I thought was a pretty cleaver idea :)...<>

First I started with a bunch of dead sticks I found in my grandpa's front yard

Next I took some wire and made the shape I wanted

Then I spray painted it black

and then added some fake spider webs and spiders to it...

and TA-DA my very own homemade halloween wreath! and it only cost me about 3 dollars to make :)
** more of my fall projects coming soon!!**

redo.

So about a month ago when Jeff and I moved down to cedar my darling aunt gave us an old kitchen table, because we didn't have one for our cute little apartment!

It was a beautiful solid black table, but it had been used as a outside/backyard table for the past few years so it had some pretty bad sun/water/everything weather damage to it.

I loved it black and had planned on just sanding off the old pealing paint and then repainting it black again but as I was searching for websites on how to redo tables I came across this super cute blog!! (<--- click there to go check out the super cute blog!)

While I was reading pretty much every post she had written I came across this table she had redone and I fell IN LOVE with it!!! Seriously.

Well trying to be adventerous, I decided to take a chance and try to paint my table just like the table I saw on this blog!!

I started out with buying all the supplies I needed, ended up spending about 27 dollars on the paint for the chairs, and 31 dollars for the paint for the table. But some of the stuff I bought can be used again for my future products.
